The new Smart Video Door Intercom consists of a full colour 7 inch high quality TFT monitor, similar to the types used in laptops. The monitor is wall mounted and plugged directly into a socket outlet (any outlet). A high resolution camera with built-in microphone is installed outside the door (front or back or front and back). This allows the user to see who is at their door(s), without opening the door and the system allows the user to ask them who they are and what they want, again without opening their doors. Nowadays, many people, especially older people and people living alone are scared to open their doors, especially to strangers. In addition, the monitor has a built in DVR (digital recording device) that records photos and videos of all callers. These images are time and date stamped and are stored on the system on a SD card and be supplied to the Gardai in the event of an incident. It will also show the user who called when they were away.
